Development of an Indirect ELISA to Detect Equine Antibodies to Theileria haneyi

نویسندگان

چکیده

The apicomplexan parasite Theileria haneyi is one of two known causative agents equine theileriosis. It causes milder clinical disease than its more virulent counterpart, equi, in experimentally infected horses, and can superinfect T. equi-positive horses. current equi merozoite antigen 1 (EMA1)-based competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)used the U.S. to detect theileriosis detects but not haneyi, complexity molecular assays precludes widespread use for epidemiologic studies. In order facilitate urgently needed studies on prevalence goal this study was develop a sensitive specific serologic diagnosis based 11 (ThEMA11). To achieve objective, ThEMA11 recombinantly expressed eukaryotic cells antigenicity assessed using sera from haneyi-experimentally Confirmation reactivity enabled design optimization an indirect ELISA. Specificity ELISA cohort horses confirmed PCR-positive either or haneyi. Data field samples further demonstrate that capable identifying antibodies multiple continents around world.

Development of an Indirect Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay to Detect Antibodies against Serotype A2013 of Foot and Mouth Disease Virus in Cattle

Foot and mouth disease (FMD) is a contagious animal disease that causes irreparable damage to the economy of countries, including Iran in which this disease is a native one. Among the ways to combat FMD are vaccination and slaughter. Due to the specific situation of Iran, it is not possible to kill infected animals. Therefore, vaccination is the most important way to fight this disease. S...

Title : Development of an indirect ELISA to diagnose SIV using antibodies against the viral matrix protein -

The objective of this study was to establish an indirect ELISA that can be used to detect exposure to all swine influenza virus (SIV) subtypes by detecting antibodies against conserved SIV matrix proteins. A second objective was to determine if this assay can also be used to differentiate SIV infection from vaccination. Serum from SIV-vaccinated and/or SIV-experimentally infected pigs were used...

Use of monoclonal antibodies in an ELISA to detect IgM class antibodies specific for Toxoplasma gondii.

Two monoclonal antibodies CH6 and C1E3 were used in an antibody class capture assay for the detection of IgM antibodies specific for Toxoplasma gondii. CH6 was used on the solid phase to capture human IgM. After a Toxoplasma gondii antigen had been added, specifically bound material was detected using C1E3 coupled to horseradish peroxidase. The assay was compared with an established system usin...

Development of OMP based indirect ELISA to gauge the antibody titers in bovines against Pasteurella multocida

Pasteurella multocida (P. multocida) is an important pathogen of various domestic animals. The outer membrane proteins (OMPs) play a major role in pathogenesis and immunogenicity of P. multocida. The aim of the study was to develop indirect enzyme linked immuno sorbant assay (ELISA) based on OMPs to ascertain the antibody titers in animals post-infection or to gauge the potency of vaccine. The ...

Development and evaluation of an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), using chlamydial group antigen, to detect antibodies, to Chlamydia trachomatis.

Chlamydial group antigen was extracted from Chlamydia trachomatis strain SA2(f) and used as the antigen for an ELISA. The assay was reproducible since chlamydial antibody titres differed by no more than twofold when sera were tested on up to eight occasions. In tests on sera from 75 patients attending venereal disease or rheumatology clinics, the results of the ELISA and of a microimmunofluores...
